In 2009, Lisa Tabor, CultureBrokers
founder and president, chaired the
Saint Paul NAACP's celebration of
the national organization's 100th
anniversary. The unique event
partnered with sponsor McNally
Smith College of Music to honor
Katie McWatt and Matthew LIttle as
lifetime achievement award winners.
She also worked with actor/vocalist
T. Mychael Rambo and MPR's
Fitzgerald Theatre to deliver RISE! A
Celebration of Bold Dreams and Big
Victories. This spirited, cultural
celebration paid tribute to the
historical significance of the NAACP
in the annals of civil rights activism
and the integral role of Minnesota
and its residents over this
remarkable centennial journey.
